The Settings page in Super Tags controls when your rules run and which items they run over. Set the background schedule, toggle real-time tagging per item type, and use sync scope to limit tagging to just the part of your store you care about.
What is sync scope?
Sync scope is a store-wide filter per item type: only items inside the scope are processed, and only those items count toward your plan limits. It is the single most effective way to run a large store on a smaller plan.
Each type - products, orders, customers - has its own scope. Open one to build its filter with the same condition builder rules use:
For example, keep only Product Type is one of Hoodies, Jackets and Created At is greater than -3 years in sync. Everything else is ignored by every rule, every sweep and every real-time event. For "is one of" conditions, the value picker lists the actual values in your store - product types, vendors, tags - with checkboxes and search:
How does the scheduled sweep work?
The sweep is a background run over your in-scope items on the interval you choose, for example every 6 hours. Every plan includes it, and it is also the safety net for real-time tagging: anything that could not be tagged live - including changes beyond your real-time allowance - is picked up on the next sweep.
How do I turn on real-time tagging?
On Growth and above, toggle real-time per item type in Settings: products, orders and customers each have their own switch. When on, items re-tag within seconds of changing or selling out. Each live update uses one event from your monthly allowance (see Plans and usage), and you can set any individual rule to run only on the sweep.
Why are order and customer options locked?
Order and customer tagging uses Shopify's Protected Customer Data. Those options show a "Pending Shopify approval" badge and stay locked until Shopify grants that approval for the app on your store. Product tagging works immediately.
